The speed during a real copy
A folder with 8,000 documents, 1,000 photos and 4 videos, 10 GB in all, copied from one external hard disk to another. The line shows how much data is written to the disk, second by second.
How we measured
- Laptop with Intel Core i7-9750H processor (6 cores), 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO SSD.
- Source and destination on the same disk, with the same files for both programs.
- Each test was repeated three times per program: we show the middle value.
- The time includes starting Saetta and writing all the data to the disk.
- When deleting, both programs remove the files permanently, without going through the Recycle Bin.
- The animated race is sped up and keeps the real proportions of the times.
No habits to change
Saetta integrates into File Explorer. The operations it cannot do better, such as those on ZIP archives, phones or virtual folders, stay with Windows.

As usual: Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+X to cut, or the right-click menu.

Press Ctrl+V in the destination folder. The progress window shows the real speed and the time remaining.
A copy engine of its own
Saetta copies with an engine written from scratch for Windows. Before it starts, it recognizes what it is writing to, an SSD, a hard disk, a USB stick or an SD card, and picks the fastest way for each. You work in File Explorer as always. For network folders and folder sync Saetta uses robocopy, the copy program included in Windows.
Several files at a time
File Explorer copies one file after another. Saetta copies many of them together, like a supermarket that opens more checkouts, and decides how many to open based on the disk: many on an SSD, one orderly queue on a hard disk, so the head does not jump back and forth.
A locked file doesn't stop everything
If a file is open in another program, Saetta tries again a couple of times, then moves on to the others. At the end it tells you which one is missing, and you can copy just that one again.
Large files go straight to the disk
Videos and disk images are written directly to the drive, without filling Windows memory. This way the PC stays responsive even during the heaviest copies.
